The Challenge
AURA™, a best-in-class methane-detection camera headed into brutal oilfield conditions, needed a name and brand as rugged and credible as the hardware. Our effort included naming, branding and collaboration on the product design of the AURA™ OGI camera.
Our Solution
Brand Built to Last
The Aura camera was built to survive the harshest conditions: hundred-degree heat, heavy dust, and rough handling by oil and gas crews, not to mention a truck-bed ride between every job site.
Made to be Seen
Our collaboration resulted in yellow-and-black cerakote and custom NANUK cases, designed to survive heat, dust, and hard use.
World Changing
The brand and design had to be as revolutionary as the AURA’s capabilities: double the resolution of any competing methane-detection tool, letting companies cut emissions and stay ahead of regulations.
The AURA Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) camera was created in partnership with Sherpa Design for ChampionX. The AURA camera is the best-in-class optical gas imaging camera. It's primary function is to detect methane in oil field operations. Methane detection is very important to energy companies, first, because it is harmful to the environment and second because there are stringent regulations and penalties for releasing methane into the atmosphere.

Designed to Last
The triangular "A's" reference the angular geometry of the camera body. The yellow and black cerakote along with rugged design elements give the camera what it needs to stand the punishment of an oilfield operational environment with high temps, severe dust and rigorous use.

The cameras and technological capability are industry leading. These are also very expensive, so each one was delivered in custom AURA NANUK cases with bespoke foam inserts for batteries, tablets and necessary accessories.
